all you will need is-

thin cucumber slices

cottage cheese about 3 tbsp

salt to taste

tomato strips

Dip the slices in warm water, let them be  there for a while and take out. This will make them soft enough to fold without any crack.

Add little salt to the cheese. Spread a little cheese over the slice and roll it to make candle. Put the tomato strip to add  finishing to the candle.

enjoy!

look who is cooking breakfast

Last week it was raining here almost every day.  The rainy weather reminded me the winter mornings in our hometown. We used to eat early lunch and then go to school.  So I thought to make early lunch and asked my husband for that. He loves the old day granny recipes as much as the new age recipes. So when I told him my idea he asked what’s cooking? I told that I want to make Cafli-Bhat and he approved my idea in seconds. But the problem was that for it i have to wash the greens and it might take a while to prepare the lunch and the babies can’t wait for that long. so I asked my husband to prepare  pancakes for babies and himself. Initially he told he can’t do it but then got ready , so i told how to do and he did it. The good thing is that he was happy with the results and happily made all pancakes.

Pancakes are the simplest  things to make . All you need is

1 cup flour

2 eggs

1 cup milk

salt or sugar to taste

Just mix all the ingredients to get batter of pouring consistency. You can adjust the amount of milk to get the batter. Pour two tablespoons of the batter in a hot non-stick pan, if you are using twa drop some drops of oil before pouring the batter. turn it when it looks set. Take out of heat when cooked on either sides. Serve with fruit jam or tea.

Beans with Spinach Recipe

Beans with Spinach Recipe

Just before her second birthday Achala was diagnosed anemic due to iron deficiency. It is quite difficult to make her eat vegetables. Most of  the times Achala eats only roti (Indian bread) and only chawal (steamed rice) without any dal (pulses) or sabji (vegetable dish). She is very choosy about what to eat. So I mix two or three vegetables to make a dish (which I think she will eat). In this dish I have used spinach and okra (ladyfinger) with french beans
