I have always liked the cute decorated bento lunches and wondered if I can do something like that for my kids school lunch. I am surely not going to have time and resources to do decorated bento but for now a simple bento lunch box
Contains rice, fried green gram with coconut, cucumber and carrot salad, grilled capsicum, onion and paneer.
My family love fruits, and when it comes to mangoes we are mad about them. Kids wait eagerly for the mango season to arrive and when mangoes are around they just ignore any other fruit.
I am not a big fan of using fruits in cooking except for the shakes and smoothies ( I prefer fruit ). So when my kids demanded something new for their tiffin box very hesitatingly I decided to make mango paratha.
Here is the list of ingredients I used
2 cup whole wheat flour
1cup mango puree
3 tbsp jaggery powder
First mix the ghee, salt and sounf in the flour with your hands.
Now mix the jaggery powder properly with the mango puree. ( i used jaggery as the cooked mangoes will not be sweet enough. You can skip adding it if you want just the hint and color of mango in your parathas).
Use the wet ingredients to knead the flour into a big ball.
Knead for a minute. Make small balls and roll them like chapaties. Cook on the heated tawa using ghee.
Serve with your choice of chutney.
The last time I went to RCPuram I bought fabric to stich new dining chair covers. And it was two years back. I didn’t get the push to start stitching untill last month. Yes I stitched the covers last month and blogging now.. I know I am being too lazy. But finally here they are
I had an idea of having open covers with ties on sides inspired by pinterest but changed the idea and finally ended up with the one side zipper closing. We need things safe and secured when have kids who act more like monkeys than human.
I am super happy with the outcome and the fact that even dh loved them 🙂
When we came back from two weeks outing yesterday our pots had a surprise for us; a full grown bunch of spinach 🙂
I made spinch tomato soup
It was a refreshing change from the outside food we had for two weeks.
