The New look

I had mentioned earlier about the lace collar I was working on; I have attached it to the dress. Have a look

image

This dress already had lacy collar but they were machine-made. The little girl rarely wore this dress as she found the dress neck too low as well as wide and was not comfortable with that. I am sure now she is going to wear this often:)
Here is the before look

WIP

Today I am sharing my wip(work in progress) projects. Normally I prefer to work on one project at a time as that way my focus is only on one work and I can finish on time. But at times I need break from the monotony of the work and I end up having more than one projects in hand.
Right now I am test knitting a tee with beading details on it.

I got a request to fix a dress for my friend’s daughter; the dress has very deep neckline. So I am crocheting a collar for the same

Along with these I am working on a crochet top and a five day workshop with kids in my society.
The workshop includes paper folding, cutting to make gift boxes, basic needlework  (running stitches, chain stitches) and to keep kids hooked we have fireless cooking. Till now we made a vegetables sanwich, vegetables salad and fruit cababs (fruits on a skewer). We all are enjoying this and kids even asked why can’t we have the workshop for more days:D

Fandango doily

I have a long queue of dollies in my to do list and when one of groups in revelry started doily-a-long I had to jump in. First, I had been in non productive zone for quite some time and secondly, after my recent thread projects; my hands were itching to do more thread work.
I chose to do Fandango doily which I liked at the first sight. This doily comes from Lilly’s design book no. 201. I got this pattern from celt’s vintage pattern website.

I was busy with other stuff when I was in the third last row and did misread the pattern. So a mistake in the scallops row and that was repeated all the way around. Because of that mistake I got the points out of the inner set of scallops. Also I could not do the edging row due to the mistake.. I could have tried doing the dc row one more time and then do the edges but it was too much of mindwork for me at that momonent and I decided to stop there.

Revisiting Doily

After my recent thread work (the shrugs) I am gearing up to do more thread projects and maybe shorten my to-crochet-list by two or more. Here is what I have started

Fandango doily by Lily Design Book No. 201
It’s been in my to do list for more than four years and I am sure it’s going to be great. I am using crochet hook 1.3mm for the project.

One little addition

Here is what I made to go with the dress for the little girl

image

Cute little bolero. I am super happy with this one.. it goes with the dress and also can be used separately. It will surely be used many times before the recipient outgrows this beauty.

For a cutie

Another quick project. This one for a little girl

I just love this pink, Vardhman baby soft, super soft yarn and so light. I am still thinking to make one more item to go with it, but can’t decide on a hat or booties.

Colours on my needles

My recent fo (finished object) is the shrug for my sil. No I didn’t mend the last one but though of quickly making another one. All because of the steaking being alien technique for me.. never tried.. know it only in theory. I may get the nerves to try it but surely not now.
Coming back to the fo, this was my sil’s choice, as she wanted a full sleeved shrug.

I am super happy the way it has turned. I have tried knitting shrug before but I was never happy with the results and so the projects never got completed. Maybe because I never wore them I was not sure about their drape and fitting. I think this project gave me a bit of idea of a shrug.
Other than this I am working on some other projects.. here is a sneak peek on one of them

Failed Projects

I had not been feeling like crafting for the last three months. I did some projects but nothing big, mending or alteration was what mainly happened for me. So not much to share but two mega failed projects

20160703_120902.jpg

A pair of slippers and a headband for a little princess, sadly the slippers didn’t fit her (although I did make it for a year old size). I still have to make another pair for her and it’s been a month. I know I am being lazy but it looks like I am slowly getting my mojo back and soon I’ll update on this project.

A lace shrug made on request for Bhabhi. Sadly after washing I realised that the underarms are not going to fit her and so again I have to start a new one. I am still not sure about what to do with it.
